When I hear the phrase educational inequality I think of low income families. This is due to the fact that the many of those students do not have the means to get help. When I think of specific groups affected by this I tend to think of inner cities. To start with the second article I really liked most of their stories showing that even though they were afraid of what college was they still went forward and did it. I also liked the diversity that was within the article, they did not stick to one group of people. There were many people in the article that began going out and helping their home towns or people who are affected by educational inequality. The pod casts were very interesting, I did not really know what they were going to be about but after listening to them I learned many things. One thing that has never really crossed my mind was when the girl was talking about not knowing where her family was from so she just picked a random country within Africa. This I found sad but I really liked the conclusion she came to in the end. Stating that America is her home land. The first article brought some good points forward about school for many individuals. they were saying that there were a large amount of kids who would do worse in school due to various factors. I think that we as a society need to stop labeling people. when we do this we tend to associate them with some negative image.

I do feel like the American school system needs to expand what they are teaching about because I never knew that Lincoln’s goal was to send the freed people to another country. This is something that is not taught. The way it is taught makes it seem like he is the hero of the civil war, which is not wrong but its also not the full truth. I definitely believe that they need to change how they teach history. Schools should have to teach the whole history, the good and the bad.
